When Speed Exceeds Order

24 12 2008

Our holiday part was last night. I threatened to clean by office over the holidays. Bonnie, one of our staff on the marketing team, looks over and says, “I’ve never seen you desk.” She’s been with us for almost a year. I thought: OMG, what could be lurking there? When you move to fast what piles up and lies buried? Of course we move fast. Too fast to clean up. Too fast to organize. The priority-radar doesn’t permit anything more than repacking a suitcase. Somewhere in helping the team strategize a new training program to get employees to think like a CEO, publishing another book, working PR, and flying 150,000 miles to speak, my desk got left behind. What chapters and articles are lying there begging to be written? What research still needs to be done?
